The Chamber of Commerce is non-profit, non-sectarian and does not in any manner limit production, stifle competition, nor restrain trade. Business and private citizens are urged to become members of the chamber to act as one voice in the development and improvement of the southern area of Davis County. - The Bountiful Area Chamber of : Commerce will be 40 years old in : May, and events to celebrate the : anniversary are now being planned : by the officers and board of direc-: direc-: tors. The chamber was incorporated as the South Davis Chamber of Com-' Com-' merce and included the six cities in j the southern part of Davis County. Today there are some who in jest bring up the issue, but the chamber receives strong support from the six communities and the government officials of those cities. Douglas Headden, Mountain Fuel Supply Company, was elected president of the Bountiful Area Chamber of Commerce for 1990. Haven Bumingham is the executive director, and Faye Richards is the executive secretary. Bumingham and Richards are responsible for carrying out the policies and programs pro-grams established by the board of directors. Haven has been with the chamber for 10 years and Faye for nearly 15 years. During the annual planning conference con-ference the 18 board members and the two staff members of the chamber organize their forces to implement the 1990 programs. Under the leadership of vice president, Claudia Conder, are the membership services responsibilities, respon-sibilities, which include economic development, governmental affairs, education and business support. Barbara Weese, vice president, has been designated to handle membership communications, which include public relations, women in business, small business council and membership development. de-velopment. Randy Stevenson, also a vice president, heads up the programs division, which makes him responsible respon-sible for program administration, program development and fund raising. The mission of the Bountiful Area Chamber of Commerce remains re-mains the same as it was 40 years ago.
