Show Funeral homes do not 'rip off their customers Dear Editor This is concerning the March 7 article in the business section on Heritage Caskets. I was very disappointed disap-pointed at the condemning of funeral funer-al homes for ' Unnecessary markups" in their caskets. The inference in-ference that funeral homes are out to rip people off or only make a commission is not true. My husband is a licensed funeral director and is in the business of offering an important service to those who have lust loved ones. Many people ask how he can do what he does, and the answer is very simple. He loves to help people peo-ple at these difficult times. His first concern is for them and their families' needs to be met. Only one of which is choosing the casket, though important. He finds fulfillment in this service ser-vice as does his brother. He is in a second generation business and grew up watching his father and uncles serving those in this community. com-munity. They work with those who have difficulty paying and even do not charge in some cases. Some casket companies they work with have been building caskets for over 100 years. They are quality caskets. I encourage an article on a new business, but it should be done without questioning the integrity of those who have been in business for years. Sherry Russon Bountiful |
