' A meeting, to encourage development de-velopment of a hospital for Beaver County was held Monday Mon-day evening at Minersville in the L D S Church, with a record crowd in attendance. F. D. Williams Wil-liams was chosen as a delegate and representative from Minersville Min-ersville to meet with other officials of-ficials chosen in the county to hasten the building of a hospital. hos-pital. Regardless of the place chosen for the site of the hospital, it was unanimously agreed that obtaining a hospital within the county was the important issue, and although Minersville residents resi-dents are as desirous as other communities of being selected as the location, they stated wholeheartedly their backing would be evident regardless of where the selection was made. Persons chosen to serve on a good-will committee toward the county hospital were Truman Bradfield, Thurman Eyre, Bill Carter, Milton Albrecht, Warren War-ren Hall, Dan Davis, Karl Truman, Tru-man, Frank Pryor, Frieda Wood, Lillian McKnight, June Pearson, Rema Limb, Nettie Myers and Gladys Myers. At the Branch Agricultural Co'loge graduation exercises held last week in Cedar City, a resident of Minersville, Mrs. Lillian Lil-lian McKnight, was among those graduating bringing honor to herself and to this community by receiving a Bachelor of Science Sci-ence degree. Mrs. McKnight had attended school during the summer for a number of years, and has worked constantly toward to-ward achievement of this goal. She is to be commended for her spirit and determination, for not only is she the mother of four children, but she has been a teacher at the Minersville school for a number of years, a teacher in the Sunday School, and has held numerous other possitions in the community. Mrs. Effie Marshall, accompa-1 nied by her daughter, Mrs. Robert Rob-ert Gressman and son Robert, motored to Cedar City Saturday, bringing Aldean, another daughter, daugh-ter, to spend the summer at Minersville. Min-ersville. Aldean has just completed com-pleted her first year at B A C. Guests at the Warren Hall residence res-idence recently were Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hall, Mr. and Mrs.. Reed Hall, and Mr. and Mrs. Fay Halfy all of Compton, Cal., and former residents of Minersville. Mrs. Alba Gillins was a dinner din-ner guest Saturday evening at the home of her neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Blackburn. Mr. and Mrs. Gus Lambson of Antimony have been here spending spend-ing several days with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Fay Marshall. While here they purchased the Herbert Hall farm. Minersville welcomes the newcomers to this communtiy. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Carter returned re-turned home Saturday from SaH Lake City, where Clair underwent under-went a spinal operation. Although Al-though Clair will be unable to do heavy manual labor for some time, a comtVete recovery is anticipated. an-ticipated. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schwab are in Salt Lake City for a visit before returning to Minersville. Mrs. Ileen. Gray was our Minersville Editor last week, while Mrs. Gillins was in Og -den caring for the family of a sister who underwent athy-roid athy-roid operation. Mrs. Alta Kelsey underwent a major operation at the Iron County Hospital in Cedar City on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Ru-ben Dotson were among those accompanying her, in addition to her family. j |
