Show lllllll!!lllli!lllltilll!ll!llllll!HII1liliH! Bui 9 Jtzotei By SECOND-GUESSER "The fates must be agin' me," was the way Doc Kohler philosophically philo-sophically summed up his $6.50 fine in Judge Koch's court this week. It seems Doc had his car at Schramm's Service for a little pre-driving going-over, and the State Highway Patrloman noticed no-ticed he had no inspection sticker, stick-er, and no 1952 registration. He told Doc he couldn't give him a ticket ''unless I see you driving it," and went on his way looking around for other violators. Doc started to drive the car home, we're told, and here came the cop! so he pulled bak into the service station and the cop drove on by. But next day, doggone it, the first guy Doc met when he drove down the Main Drag was conscientious Patro'man Bruce Fugal. "$6.50," says Judge Koch, and Doc sez "Dang It! i Can't get by with a thing these i days!" Butch Gillis, White Market "meathead," has so much fun clipping coupons off his stocks and bonds,- he thinks the Mil-ford Mil-ford housewives will also enjoy c'ipping 'em. This week he announces, an-nounces, on Page Three of The News, a group of "coupon divi- j dend specials." ' And Norm Lamb, former vaudeville trouper, is ' starting dancing classes again. Norman i "hoofed' 'the R K O vaudeville circuit for four years, and spent three years as an' entertainer at Sun Valley. I With Mr. Lamb's classes start-1 ing, Milford jiow has two tap ! dance schools Mr. Lamb's and Sharon Varley's. Miss Varley, who taught dancing for three years in Salt Lake City, also en-, tertained in clubs in Salt Lake and Pocatello. Her Milford classes started several weeks ago. In the Mailbag: v "I think there ought to be something done about the boys in the South part of town. You arent' safe to go out in your own yard. They throw rocks and use flippers. There is going to be ' a lot of folks hurt and windows broken if it isn't soon stopped." A letter from the Department of Public Safety asks us to remind re-mind all auto drivers that the i fee for license renewal is now $1, and the fee for a new license li-cense is $1. Seems most folks are still sending the old two-bit two-bit piece in when they ask for a renewal. And instead of the Tax Commission, Com-mission, as formerly, all correspondence corre-spondence regarding drivers licenses li-censes should be addressed to Department of Public Safety, 121 State Capitol, Salt Lake. |
