Show PILOT "BUZZES" BRIDGE; RIDES inGH POWER LINE On last Saturday afternoon a light plane belonging to the Milford Flying Service, ,piloted by Frank Holm, landed on the 6600-volt hifeh power line of the Telluride Power Company near Delta. Pilot Holm had been "buzzing" a carry-all operator op-erator at a new river bridge under construction, it is reported, and the plane stalled and came to a perfect per-fect landing on top of the line. The plane went "from one pole to another, bouncing on the lines several times," according to a Delta Chronicle reporter. "The plane stopped, the lines sagged, the plane leaned over to rest on one wing and the pilot scrambled out." A Telluride line crew shut off the power while the plane was lifted off the wires. After a damaged propeller had been replaced, the plane was flown back to Milford on Sunday. |
