Show FUREBRED STALLION TO IMPROVE RACING STOCK AT MINERSVILLE Mr. Arthur Lightner and Mr. Rulon Eyre, both of Minersville, have purchased Winning Star, a 4-year-old direct descendant of Man o' War and Peter Pan. The stallion will be brought to Minersville Miners-ville for breeding purposes. Winning Star, the eighteenth thoroughbred brought to Minersville Miners-ville by the Lightner-Eyre interests, inter-ests, comes from a line of race horses that have amassed a staggering stag-gering sum in purses won for their owners. Included in the list is Equipoise who won $338,610; Shut Out, $317,507; Bolingbroke, $161,270; Equifox, $141,600; Attention, $122,-000; $122,-000; Equestrian, Stymie, Pennant, Remembrance, American Flag, and a long list of other famous horses. The sire .of Winning Star, Stars and Bars, is a grandson of Peter Pan, and the dam, Meddlesome Miss, a granddaughter of Man o' War and Lady Conley. Purchased from M. C. Selberg of Fessenden, North Dakota, the stallion is expected to arrive in Milford within the next few days. He will be placed -at stud in Minersville. |
