Show Parents make big plans for gathering The Horrace W. and Tran-quilia Tran-quilia Clark home, 274 South second West has been alive with excitement as their four children and 18 grandchildren, also an aunt, Helene Clark, twin sister of Horace; and Roy and Laneiva Richmond, parents of Maureen Clark from Hobart, Indiana, came for a reunion. It was the first time all the children have been home at the same time since they were married. Preparing for the group, the Clarks converted the shop into a boys' dormitory; their camper into a girls dormitory; dormi-tory; the basement into a bedroom bed-room and equiping the photography photog-raphy room with a shower. A tent was set up on the back lawn for further accommodations accommoda-tions for the Richmonds. Fred, his wife, Maureen, and children, Kathy, Eric, Freddie, Ellise, Lorraine, and Aunt Helene came back from Seattle, Washington, where Fred teach- es school. Dorothy, her husband, hus-band, Bert Miner and children, Dennis, Alan, Jan and Julie came from Sao Paulo, Brazil, where Bert has been on assignment assign-ment for the past two years for the state department. Stephen, wife, Roberta, and children, Brian, David and Debra Ann, came from Tempe, Arizona, where Steve is employed as an engineer for Motorola. Carolyn her husband, Blaine Wood and children Kyle, Kristine, Michael, Marlene, Sheree, and Shawn came from Indio, California where Blaine teaches school and coaches athletic events. A surprise dinner was held at a Provo restaurant for the Clark's 40th wedding anniversary. anniver-sary. At this time, in addition to other gifts, they were presented pre-sented with a large beautifully framed picture of the entire group of children and grandchildren. grand-children. Mrs. Clark was hon- ored with a large purple orchid and Mr. Clark a boutineer. The children took turns reminiscing to the entertainment of all. After Af-ter a delicious meal all gathered gath-ered around the piano and sang some of the old favorite songs their parents love. The Clarks were married Julv 8. 1929 at Provo. After a honeymoon to Fish Lake they made their home in Springville where they have lived since. Both Horace and Tranquilia are retired from work at the Utah State Hospital, where Mrs. Clark was in charge of the laundry for many years and Mr. Clark was landscape gardner. Mrs. Nell Alleman has as her guest, her only sister, Mrs. Etta Andrus of Long Beach, California. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Carter (Judy Bringhurst) and children, Tracy and Scott, have returned to their home in Torrance, California, after a three week's visit in Springville with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wells Bringhurst. Judy also attended her 1959 class reunion. The Bringhurst's son, Steven, returned re-turned to California with them and will visit about ten days, returning home by plane. Mapleton Firemen's Auxiliary held their annual July party at Norticia Brkers with the officers offi-cers in charge. Twelve members mem-bers and their husbands were present. A steak supper was enjoyed on the patio and the evening was spent visiting. |
