Student named for honors as secretary Jeanette Jensen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Burnell Jensen, 73 W. 300 No., was chosen as the outstanding secretarial student stu-dent at Springville High School and was honored Thursday evening of last week, at an honor night program and dinner, din-ner, sponsored by the Timp Valley Chapter of the National Secretaries Association. A senior at the high school, Miss Jensen was honored along with eight other high school representatives as well as one from BYU and one from Utah Technical College. Each girl received a certificate of achieve m e n t in secretarial work. A. E. Payne, supervisor of personnel at Geneva Works, and Maxine Christensen, secretary secre-tary to the BYU president, spoke to the girls. Jeanette was chosen from the Office Practice .Class at the high school on the basis of shorthand speed, typing speed and general office ability. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Binks and three children, Randy, Ka-lene Ka-lene and Kelly of Fontana, California, Cal-ifornia, are spending a spring vacation in Springville with her mother, Mrs. Leona Wilson and other relatives and friends here and at Mapleton. Mr. Binks teaches at Fontana and he and his wife also manage an Etta Lee Boys Home at Fontana and care for 12 boys, 14 to 18 Mr. and Mrs. Tom Averett entertained Sunday at dinner for their granddaughter and family. |
