Show Stolen auto recovered by local officer Newel Rigtrup, Springville pat r o 1 m a n, apprehended a Spanish Fork juvenile-age boy shortly after 4 a.m., Wednesday morning on Maple Street and 800 West, Mapleton, riding in a stolen car. The car had been taken from Kelly's Texaco Station and belonged be-longed to Stan Waley, 635 No. 200 East, Springville. The owner own-er was not aware the car had been stolen until notified by Springville police. The boy was placed in the County Youth Home to await action by the juvenile court. Mr. Waley is of the opinion the police are really on the job, his drive-in being involved in the burglary Sunday night and the officers apprehended the burglars almost before he knew of the burglary. The youth apprehended in the stolen car may also be involved in car prowls, according accord-ing to Chief Ashley Graham. A watch found in the stolen car was recognized by Art Child, as that of his wife and it is believed the watch had been taken from the glove compartment com-partment of the Child car. President Johnson has signed a bill which creates a Product Safety Commission to study the safety of appliances and other products used by the consumer. |
