Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Bird were in Salt Lake City this week, to see Vanda Quintero, daughter daugh-ter of Mr .and Mrs. John Quintero Quin-tero of Fort Apache Branch, White River, Arizona, before she left for . the North Indian LDS Mission. She made her home with Mr .and Mrs. Bird two years, while attending high school here and later went to Provo .to live for a time. Mj-s. Ruby Norton of Provo, Pro-vo, formerly of Springville, recently re-cently retured from a trip to Lafayette, Indiana, where she visited with her son, Melvin Arthur Twitchell, his wife, Elaine and their four childrn. Mr. Twitchell completed work in January on his masters degree de-gree in physics at Purdue University. Uni-versity. Before moving to Indiana, In-diana, Mr. and Mrs. Twitchell resided in Springville while he attended BYU and then taught at Provo High School. He is currently employed as a high school teacher in West Lafayette, Lafay-ette, Indiana. Both Mr. and Mrs. Twitchell are active in the LDS Purdue Ward, where he is an assistant ward clerk and she is a Sunday School teacher. The Utah Safety Council points out that dark colors in wearing apparel makes pedestrians pe-destrians practically invisible to a motorist peering through a rain smeared windshield at a black road surface. So if you are walking after dark, remember remem-ber that in traffic the harder it is to see you, the easier it is for you to be struck by a car. Army helps cities plan for riot control. |
