Show Beaver services conducted for former resident A number of relatives and friends from Springville were in Beaver Monday, to attend funeral services for Rex S. Packard, .56 a former resident of Springville, son of Mrs Phebe S. Packard of this city and the late Chilian (Chid) F. Packard. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery. He died May 26, 1967, in a Beaver hospital of a -long illness. ill-ness. He was born at Payson, Dec. 5, 1910, and lived the early portion of his life in Snrine- ville attending schools here. He was owner and operator of the Barton Motel at Beaver. Mr. Packard was a World War II veteran, a member of I the Beaver Post American Le- 1 gion and the Beaver Lions and had served on the city council : in Beaver. He married Tess Child of Springville in 1930 and they were later divorced. Surviving are his wife, Naomi Na-omi A. McKee Packard of Beaver, whom he married Oct. 9, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; a son Bert of Beaver; a stepson and stepdaughter, Lynn McKee, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Cullen (Mary Ann) Williams, Wil-liams, Greenville, Beaver County; Coun-ty; ten grandchildren; his mother mo-ther of Springville and the following fol-lowing brothers and sisters: Mrs. George D. (Ora) Clyde, Mrs. Charles (Coe) Straw, Mrs. S. K. (Faye) Gottfredson, Salt Lake City; Max Packard and Mrs. Arthur (Jessie) Condie, Springville. One-tenth of the earth's land surface still lies hidden beneath ice. |
