Show I Care, courtesy asked of anglers I With the first of Utah's outdoor out-door seasons at hand, Department Depart-ment of Fish and Game Director, Direc-tor, John E. Phelps, reminded all outdoorsmen that care, courtesy and observance of the angling regulations are everyone's every-one's responsibility. Phelps said, "We join with other agencies and organizations organiza-tions in urging each person going go-ing outdoors this season to appoint ap-point himself custodian of the resources and facilities he may use." Director Phelps noted many growing problems as pressure on the recreational resources increases in-creases from year to year. He noted that only individual observance ob-servance of the laws and good manner would perclude more restrictive re-strictive rules and less freedom free-dom in the outdoors. Each of us as we go afield should keep the following in mind: Be familiar with the rules and regulations of the fishing season. Leave a clean camp, picnic site, stream or lake side and roadway wherever you go. Observe the rules of trespass and courtesy by gaining permission per-mission before you enter upon private land. Signs should be read and observed ob-served whereve you see them posted. Above all, exercise the same courtesy and care you expect of others during your outdoor visits . One of life's briefest moments mo-ments is the time between reading the sign on the freeway free-way and realizing you just missed the off-ramp. |
