Show Special awards go to students At annual awards assembly held at the high school as a highlight of the closing activities, activi-ties, students who have been outstanding in academic endeavors en-deavors or in the various fields of e x t racurricular activity, were given special recognition. Outstanding three year scholars were Marnae Brown and David Bird. Sophomore winners were Steven Nance and Margaret Collings. Outstanding juniors were Barbara Clyde and Michael Jones. Winning seniors were Karen Goble and Phillip Willis. The senior class was awarded award-ed the plaque for the outstanding outstand-ing class assembly of the year. The Pep Club was similarly honored for the best club assembly. as-sembly. The service awards went to Glenn Bird and to David Bird. Special scholar ships and awards were presented to Steven Ste-ven Barnett, Mary Jane Miner, Mi-ner, John Childs, Marnae Brown, Phil Willis. High school lettermen receiving receiv-ing certificates and awards at their athletic banquet held recently re-cently included the following: Richard Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kay Johnson, trophy for the outstanding baseball player; Mike Whiting, son of Mr .and Mrs. Ray Whiting, outstanding football player; Dennis Olsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Olsen, wrestling; Alan Watts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Platte Watts, track; Brett Wheeler, son. of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Wheeler and David Sel-man, Sel-man, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rich-ard Selman, track co captains. Owen Mason, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Mason, received the Orem Sportsman Award Trophy Tro-phy as outstanding basketball player;Brett Wheeler and Carl Nielson, football co-captains; Steven Murdock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Murdock, was given the most inspirational football player award and to Alan Hjorth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hjorth, for the most inspirational track man. Other players were given certificates in the respective sports |
