Show 4-H supervisor at conference New ideas for expanding the 4-H Club program was brought home recently by Hortensc Harward, 4-H supervisor and leader in Springville when she attended the Western Regional 4-H Leader Forum in Salt Lake City. She was among 218 4-H ' leaders from thirteen Western 1 States including Alaska and ! Hawaii to attend the forum on ' "New Dimensions of Leadership ' in Expanding 4-H." There were . 26 representatives from Utah. It was a grant by the J. C. Penney Company that made it possible for the National 4-H Club Foundation to conduct the forum which was highlighted " at the closing banquet when ' J. C. Penney, founder of the ; Penney Com pany, presented certificates of achievements to " those present. The Utah State University Cooperative Exten-: Exten-: sion Services, the Federal Ex-- Ex-- tension Service, and the U.S. ' Department of Agriculture all 5 assisted in the program. ' The forum featured outstanding outstand-ing speakers, field trips and "i ample opportunity for discus-" discus-" sions among the visiting lead- BIS. Mrs. Harward will use the 'experiences gained at the for-E-um to upgrade and enlarge the 3 4-H Club program in Spring-v-ville where she serves as leader lead-er and supervisor. |
