Show Easter - a significant day EDITORIAL Easter Sunday is regarded by untold millions around the world as the most important religious holiday, observed ob-served by the largest number of people. One of the most joyous days of the year, it symbolizes the reawakening of life that is universally associated with springtime. This year Easter Sunday falls on a somewhat earlier date and will be observed just six days after the official beginning of spring. Present-day observances of Easter had their beginning begin-ning in the original Easter walk of Europe when devout men and women congregated and walked in an orderly manner through town and into the open country, stopping along the way to recite prayers and sing Easter hymns. Today, in larger American cities elaborate Easter parades find women and children in new finery the husbands hus-bands and fathers sometimes going along for the walk, and one of the most delightful customs is. the Easter. Egg . ' " Hunt, one of which will be held in Springville Saturday. Easter combines a rich mixture of laughter and new clothes with solemnity and church attendance and many observe the day with picnics and family gatherings. Regardless of how the day is observed, it is an important im-portant day one in which the significance of the occasion occa-sion should be impressed upon the minds of old and young.
