Show Counci! accepts BYU clean-up offer, lets bid for club house with the council in regards to vending machines and other problems within the community. commun-ity. They discussed methods of better control of these problems prob-lems which were referred to the chief of police. The council approved the plans for a chalk and tack board presented by Kenneth Long. This is to be used in the council and committee rooms of the civic center. Councilman Stewart made a motion that the city adopt a policy that all part time city employees must retire when reaching the age of 75. This action was seconded by Councilman Coun-cilman Memory and passed unanimously. Councilman James made a motion to award the bid for building the golf course club house to J. Grant Nielson for the amount of $2,288. Councilman Council-man Child seconded and it passed pas-sed unanimously. Council m e mbers handled several items of business during dur-ing their regular council meeting meet-ing Monday night, with all members present. Brought to the attention of the council for action was the offer of a group of students connected with the BYU wards to participate in a clean up and paint up project in Springville Spring-ville May 3. There would be a large group working on the golf course and a larger group working throughout the community. com-munity. The council was in favor fa-vor of the program and recommended rec-ommended that these activities be coordinated with the City Beautification Committee. Mel Israelsen of the State of Utah Magazine, met with the council in regards to the 1967 edition and the city's participation par-ticipation in this program.
