Show Former resident has one-man art exhibition A collection of monotypes by Colleen Lewis Parker of Bountiful, Boun-tiful, formerly of Springville, is now on display at the Eldred Center in Provo and will remain re-main through March. Mrs. Parker, a graduate of Springville High School, studied at Brigham Young University, where she was awarded Studio Art Guild Gold Medal and the Brockbank Award. She studied one summer at Art Institute of Chicago and exhibited at the Iowa Artists Annual Show, the Des Moines Art Center, Iowa State University and at Clear Lake, Iowa. Also exhibited in group show at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Springville. In 1960 she won the Younkers First Award in Prints at the annual Iowa Artists Exhibition. "As the name implies, monotype mono-type is the method of producing produc-ing a single print from a plate," says Mrs. Parker. "Through experimentation with various papers, paints and tools, I have become very fascinated fas-cinated by this printmaking technique and have found it to be a most satisfying way monotype session is a learning to create expression.
