Show Former resident dies on coast Hugh Peirce, 86, died in a California hospital Oct. 13, 1966, of ailments incident to age, according to word received re-ceived here. He was a resident of Springville during his childhood child-hood and early married life. He was born in Moab, Dec. 4, 1879, and is said to be the first white child born there. His father, William A. Peirce was credited with naming Moab. His mother was Pearl Noakes Peirce. Surviving are his wife, seven sons and daughters and a brother bro-ther P. W. Peirce, Salt Lake; and two sisters, Mrs. Otto (Mat tie) Mehr and Mrs. F. D. (Myrtle) Price, Orem, all formerly for-merly of Springville. Funeral services and burial Monday, were at Roseville. |
