Show Ladies' Literary Club hears interesting talk Members of the Ladies Literary Lit-erary Club spent a delightful evening Thursday at the home of Mrs. Ray Gammell. Mrs. William L. Schreiner, president, was in charge and introduced Mrs. Blanch Ostland as a new member and Mrs. James Thorn, speaker of the evening. Mrs. Thorn told of her experiences ex-periences while serving as social so-cial secretary to Sherman Lloyd, while he was in congress. In addition to her work as secretary, sec-retary, which iincluded among other things, guiding tours through the White House and other government buildings, she and her husband and children enjoyed weekend visits to the many places of historic interest in and near Washington D. C. A report on the Legislative Council meeting held in Provo where candidates for county offices, spoke, was given by Mrs. F. C. Packard. Preceding the program, the hostess served a delicious tray luncheon assisted by her daughters, daugh-ters, Mrs. Paul Richards of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Clark Welling of Bountiful; Mrs. Norman Do-man Do-man of Mid vale; and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Blake Gammell, Gam-mell, all of whom were also guests. Nineteen club members were in attendance. As each member left, she was presented with a lovely hand-made book mark. Next meeting is to be held October 27, with Mrs. G. Low-ry Low-ry Anderson hostess at her home in Provo. |
