Nebo School District Board of education has decided not to hold bond election Nov. 15, as was advertised in the paper last week. The decision was reached at a special meeting of the board Monday evening, when a letter was read from the administrator, administra-tor, Division of Research and Planning, which indicated that the district, in view of the unexpected un-expected drop in assessed valuation, valu-ation, qualified for state school building aid without additional bonds prior to Dec. 31. After reading the letter, the superintendent also pointed out that the bond market at present pres-ent was very weak, which would result in a higher rate of interest should additional bonds be sold at present. He expressed an opinion that between be-tween now and spring the bond market might strengthen and a lower rate of interest might be available should the board decide to hold a bond election later. The superintendent also further fur-ther pointed out that the district dis-trict being qualified to receive state school building aid this year, the two new high schools may be finished on time by |
