Show Delightful program entertains guests A delightful entertainment was given for members of the Home Culture Club and their guests, Friday afternoon, at the Little Theater in the Art Building, with Mrs. Clay Bees-ley Bees-ley and Mrs. Martin Conover hostesses . The club president, Mrs. Max Alleman, presided and asked Mrs. Ronald Thorpe to read the club collect. "An Afternoon of Inspiration," Inspira-tion," was the theme of the program introduced by Mrs. Alleman who read appropriate exerpts from Utah's history. Mrs. Camilla Judd set the stage for the program with her poems on Utah and as she read them, Mrs. Janet Mabey and children of Provo did interpretative inter-pretative dancing, attired in pioneeer costumes. Mrs. Mamie Hjorth then gave the life of the Utah pioneer, pio-neer, Aurelia S. Rogers, appearing ap-pearing in typical pioneer costume cos-tume and Mrs. Mary Bird gave piano selections. From a beautifully set buffet buf-fet table centered with yellow roses to carrying out a yellow color scheme, refreshm e n t s were served by the hostess to Provo Chamber of Commerce. They visited numerous places of interest and tourist attraction attrac-tion on the islands, making the trip both ways by plane. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Iliirri-son, Iliirri-son, accompanied by Mrs. Harrison's Har-rison's sister, Mrs. Victor Frandsen, are home from an enjoyable visit in California. They spent the time with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Calder (Jane Harrison) and three children and with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wright (Suzanne Harrison) in Los Angeles and also visited a brother, Dr. Hial Hales in Los Angeles and a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Lock Hales in Glendale. The Harrison's daughter, Suzanne, returned to Springville with them for a visit and returned to her home Sunday. 16 club members and the following fol-lowing special guests: Mrs .George Bird, Mrs. Mary Thompson, Mrs. Staker Olsen of Ogden; Mrs. Mary C. Cox of ISalt Lake City; Mrs. Mary Smart, Mrs. Margaret Miner, Mrs. Bert Palfreyman, Mrs. Sam Perry, Mrs. Thomas Judd of Spanish Fork; Mrs. Jeff Warren, Mrs. Roe Thorn, Mrs. Claud Smith, Mrs. Mabey, Mrs. Hjorth. Next meeting of the club is to be held Thursday, May 20, rather than Friday as scheduled, and will be at the home of Mrs. Lenard Harward. |
