Show 1965 edition Musician listed in 'Who's IVio' J. A. (Bert) Mason, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Mason, 450 South First East, has been listed list-ed in the 1965 edition of "Who's Who in American Edu- cation," his parents were notified no-tified this week. A former music instructor at BYU, Mr. Mason is presently editor of the "Instrumentalist," an international music magazine maga-zine and has his headquarters at Evanston, 111. He took over his present position last July after eight years at BYU, from which he was given sabatical leave. Mr. Mason was recently elected elec-ted to the Music Education Research Re-search Council, one of only a very few in the Western States, to serve until 1970. He has served as clinician and music consultant in the western west-ern states and has written articles ar-ticles for numeous musical magazines and journals. On the front cover of the latest issue of the "Instrumentalist," "Instrumen-talist," he has featured his 13-year 13-year old niece, daughter of Elaine and Kenneth Rothwell, now of Provo, in full-length photo, playing a flute. Mr. Mason was former editor ed-itor of the "Utah Music Magazine." Mag-azine." His wife is the former Lynne Gailbraith of McGill, Nevada, also a graduate of BYU and a talented musician and a former teacher at Springville's Brookside School. Mr. Mason graduated from Springville High School and before be-fore his present position, taught music on every level from fourth grade into college. |
