Show UVOA sets June date for popular musical "Song of Norway," musical play on the life and music of Edvard Grieg, will be the summer sum-mer presentation of the Utah Valley Opera Association, on June 9 to 12. For the first time a UVOA production will be presented at the Harris Fine Arts Center, BYU campus. Of special interest to local music lovers is that Dr. Newell New-ell Weight, a native of Springville, Spring-ville, will train the chorus, reported re-ported to be one of the largest used in a production of this group. Mrs. John T. Bernhard, (Ea-mona) (Ea-mona) is directing the cast which includes Maughan Mc-Murdie Mc-Murdie as Edvard Grieg and ' F. Eugene Tueller as Rikard Nordraak; Elayne Clark, Helen Weeks, Joseph Meier, Heles Richards, William Peterson and Scott Whitaker. ' "Song of Norway" will also feature the International Folk Dancers from the BYU and a group from the University of Utah Ballet School. Tickets will be available May 13-14, for family membership ONLY, at The Gift Shop; May 17-22, for the general public, at The Gift Shop; after May 24, for general public only at International Finance, Provo. A smorgasbord is to be served prior to each performance perform-ance at the "Y" Center Sky Room, Royal Inn and Riverside River-side Club. j |
