She sent her holiday greetings from Iron Mountain, Michigan. Her husband is administrator ad-ministrator of the Veteran's Hospital there. They have enjoyed en-joyed their stay in Michigan with its beautiful lakes. It is a haven for the vacationer with its hunting, fishing and water sports in the summer and skiing in the winter. Throngs from the big cities come to this area the year around, but industry continues to vacate. The Cleggs also will be leaving this month for a new assignment in Newing-ton, Newing-ton, Connecticut. Mr. and Mrs. Condie Cran-dall Cran-dall had many visitors during the holidays. Mr .and Mrs. Mark Balen and family of Cedar Ce-dar City spent Christmas day with them. Mr. Balen lived with Fern's parents in Duchesne Du-chesne for many years when he was a young boy. They had a wonderful time reminiscing about "old times." For the New Year holiday, they are expecting Mr. Ray Broadhead and his family of Duchesne. Mr Broadhead is a brother to Mrs. Crandall. He has a daughter who is a nurse at the , Utah Valley Hospital and he will visit with her also before going on to Salt Lake City to see other members of the family. Mr. and Mrs. Alma Jensen are happy in their new home in Freemont, California Alma is teaching in a high school there and is going to school at Berkely on Saturdays. He is working for his Dr.'s degree. They sent best wishes to all their many friends and relatives rela-tives here. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Sayer and their family were in an auto- mobile accident last Friday afternoon. af-ternoon. They were traveling to Salt Lake City to visit Mr. Sayer's mother, when a car turned directly in front of them near Sandy. Mr. and Mrs. Sayer received cuts and bruises and little Erma Jean suffered a broken jaw. She is hospitalized hospital-ized in Salt Lake City. Among them were Mr. i and Mrs. Heber Olsen (Joyce Whiting) of Tempe, Arizona, :; and their family. It was the first time they I;! had seen snow, and they found v. it to be a very enjoyable ex-X ex-X perience. X Mr. and Mrs.- John Finlayson X (Thera Lou Jensen) and child-X child-X ren Debbie, Mike, Cindy and X Becky of Grand Junction, Col-;' Col-;' orado, spent several days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ruel y Jensen Also visiting with the Jen-sens Jen-sens during the holidays was Mr. and Mrs. Don Clark (Ruth !; Ann) and children, Randy, Jeff, X; Jim and Jerilyn of Liberty, X; Utah X; Mr. and Mrs. Kay Roberts X;and three sons, Lamar, Brian X; and Mark of Chino, Calif., X; spent the holidays with her X; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse X; Everett X Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Heath ;!from Clearfield, Utah, visited with friends and relatives in X;! Mapleton and Springville over the weekend. In addition to those who came home for Christmas many other former residents sent greetings from far away places. Mr and Mrs. Earl Men-denhall Men-denhall sent their best wishes from Temple View, New Zealand. Zea-land. They are living on an LDS Church ranch and helping with missionary work in that area. Some of their letter is as follows: "We are living in a very nice home with all modern mod-ern conveniences and the view from any window is beautifully 'green and picturesque. We are situated just in back of the temple grounds. ' We have had some very choice expriences and look forward to many more. We love the Maori people and their culture. Summer is in full bloom and everyone looks forward to closing clos-ing up shop for the Christmas holidays. They take their camping equipment and go to the beaches or travel to the South Island." The summer months are when the people from other islands, Tongans, Samoans, Ta-hitians Ta-hitians and Australians come to do temple work, so the Men-denhalls Men-denhalls expected to be very busy during the holiday season. They have two sons, Jeff, who is helping with the building of chapels and a young son, Mark. |
