Show Give yourself a proper value Many employers are bewildered bewild-ered by some of the interviews they attempt to conduct with young job applicants, according accord-ing to a news release received this week. As one employer remarked, re-marked, "I got interviewed, not the youngster." This attitude of "what's in it ' for me" is perfectly normal as ' long as equal emphasis is giv- ' en to "what I can do for you." Young or old, we like to know ;! as soon as possible the basic facts about the jobs we take. ' But when an employer gets ' the third degree about insur- ' ance, retirement, annual leave, 1 sick leave, recreation, profit sharing, regularity of pay increases, in-creases, and other such questions ques-tions raised by the young job applicant before he even knows what his job is going to be, an employer is apt to be somewhat some-what miffed. It's a better idea to tell the employer your qualifications. |
