Show Two Springville men elected officers of conservation group A number of Springville and Mapleton men are serving as officers in the Timpanogos Soil Conservation District, including in-cluding Niel Whiting of Mapleton, Maple-ton, Board Chairman Newly elected district supervisors, super-visors, following a recent election elec-tion meeting, are LaMar Cran-dall Cran-dall and LaMar Boyer, both of this city. Herschel Clinger, Lakeview dairy farmer, was reelected re-elected to serve his third term. Holdover board members are John Gillman, Orem and Mr. Whiting, Mapleton farmer and livestock feeder The Timpanogos District comprises the area south of 16th North in Orem to the south side of Springville, to Utah Lake on the west and the County line on the east. District supervisors serve without compensation. They are dedicated to a job of conservation con-servation service for their fel-lowmen. fel-lowmen. The Timpanogos Dis trict was organized in 1947 and has carried forward an active conservation program each year since that time. John W. Gillman is the only board member who has served continuously since the District was first organized. The District furnishes technical tech-nical assistance to farmers and ranchers to plan and apply soil and water conservation measures, such as ditch lining, land leveling, water management, manage-ment, range improvements, etc. This assistance comes to the District from the U. S. Soil Conservation Service. Howard M. Ivory is serving as Work Unit Conservationist in furnishing furn-ishing the available Soil Conservation Con-servation Service assistance to District cooperators in accordance accord-ance with board policies Land owners or operators within the District are eligible for assistance in solving their soil and water conservation problems.
