Show Deserved congratulations for milestone industrial park Today's groundbreaking for the Utah Power & Light Company service center in the new Cedar City Industrial Park marks a significant and long-awaited long-awaited milestone in the history of growth and improvement of the area. Although some factions have objected to the placement of the service center in the park, we at the Record applaud the efforts of those involved in finally establishing a park and taking a positive step forward in the industrial growth of Cedar City and Iron County. We hope that this groundbreaking is only the first in many similar occasions over the next few years. As we have stated in this space before, attempts to establish an industrial park in the area before have never quite gotten off the ground, so the fact M. that this park does have a tenant is to be applauded, and, in watching and working with the members of the Iron County Industrial Board, we know this will not be the end of their efforts, or the end of their success. We still strongly believe in the future of Iron County. We think its locations, its environment and its people have a lot to offer any business or any company that would like to locate here. Yet, we also feel that to have economic stability and some measure of prosperity will take efforts of groups like the industrial board. It will take foresightedness, initiative and love for the area. We congratulate those that have such and are doing what they can to make Iron County even better. |
