Show Planners give nod to subdivision, equestrian club In an evening filled mainly with discussion of the proposed new zoning and master plan maps .( see related story on page Al), the Iron County Planning Commission gave preliminary approval ap-proval to the Cedar Highlands Subdivision and the go ahead to an equestrian club near Fiddlers Canyon Subdivision., Sub-division., The preliminary approval ap-proval was granted Cedar Highlands Subdivision, Sub-division, originally Green Lake Ranches, near the "C" on Cedar Mountain as engineer Scott Bulloch appeared before the Commission the third time requesting such. This time, the Com- mission felt that all the requirements for such had been met and granted the approval to work further on the project. Bulloch submitted a feasibility report from the State Department of Public Water Supplies:' The report had been Canyon Subdivison. Linford Nelson, who submitted the proposal, noted that the entire proposal encompassed 10 acres and everything would meet public health requirements. "I was going to have some pretty nice buildings," he said. Since the site is within 1 2 mile of the Cedar City limits, Nelson also submitted a letter from the City Planning Commission saying that the plans met ' with its approval. In an item of Commission Com-mission business, the commissioners briefly discussed who should be voting members of the group, and, then decided to leave it as is. The item came up after some criticism that Chairman Dallin Gardner Gard-ner and ex officio member Howard Knight were allowed to vote. With the decision; the five regular members of the Commission, plus Gardner and Knight, will vote, thus giving Knight, in essence, two votes on most matters, since he is also a member of the County Commission, which must approve most Planning Commission action. required by. the Com-missioh'fter Com-missioh'fter an earlier meeting,; ; The report said that it was1; "feasible" to have enough -water for 120 hookups ' in the subdivision, sub-division, instead of the originally planned-for 165.
