Show Bryce Canyon sets new record Bryce Canyon National Park recorded 77,582 visits in June, it was recently announced. This number represents a 6 percent decrease compared with the same month last year. Park Superintendent Superin-tendent Bob Benton noted " that part of the decrease I was due to a large number of cancellations by foreign tour groups because of the declining value of their money compared with the dollar. Visitation for the first six months of the year is up 8 percent over last year because of the sharp increase in visitors this spring. Park campgrounds were full most of the month. The 17,92 campers who used the campgrounds in June represented a 3 percent increase. Benton advised campers to arrive before 2 p.m. for the besl selection of campsites. |
