Show Commission completes work The Iron Cc -unty Planning Commission last week completed wi lat has been a year's hard work by a very devoted, group of citizens. The seven members of the Commission completed com-pleted work Dn the County's new master plan map and zoning map, adding the documents to the already com pleted master plan, zoning ordinances and subdiyis jion ordinances. These have now been turned over to the Iron County Commission for final approval. The Iron County Record commends the Commission Com-mission members and urges the County Commission Com-mission to speedily approve the documents. Essentially, the new ordinances and documents will establish guidelines for development over the next coupIe of decades or longer. They are fluid documents, subject to change, thus making them valuable for an extended period of time. Their importance can hardly be minimized in air , area which will probably be greatly impacted by energy development and possible MX missile deployment in the next ten years. Thus, the Plan-J ning Commission members have worked long and hard hours over the past year to prepare the documents for the protection of Iron County citizens and developers. In all cases, they are unpaid, and in most cases they remain unnoticed and unthanked, even maligned at times. However, they have done a superb job, doing their best to provide direction to development in the County which will protect the rights, safety and health of all involved. Certainly these devoted men and women deserve a tip of the hat for a job well done. |
