Show AL action continues In the American League, with one week of play left, Realty World held on to its 1st place position with a 14-7 win over 7-11 and an 11-3 victory over Carter Brothers. Bart Lambert, Eric Thomas, Chris Dedrick and Glen Jump all took a turn on the mound in the first game while doubles were hit by David Bolton, Glen Jump and Shad Leeder. For 7-11, Kevin Scramm and Shane Gilford threw and Jon Gould smacked a double. In the second game of the week for Realty World, Jasson Battiste and Shad Leeder threw lor the winners and Leeder led the hitting with a homerun. Matt Higbee 'doubled. - Kirt Rosenberg went the distance for Carter Brothers and doubled. Scott Bonzo also doubled. Other play during the week saw Coleman snag a big 25-4 win over Boyers. Coleman was led by two homeruns from Shawn Wright, a triple by Brett Allred and doubles by Wright- (2) and Heather Jensen. Wright went the distance for the winners and Todd Boyer and Charlie White threw lor Boyers. Carter Brothers defeated 7 UP 8-5 with Dale Bagley on the mound. Kirt Rosenberg and Bagley both doubled. Craig Marchant threw for 7 UP and Greg Sanders doubled. Rotary picked up two wins during the week to keep them tied for second. They defeated Bettridge 8-6 with Chris Weaver going the distance. Weaver also hit a homerun, backed up by doubles from Merilee Tom and Lee Roundy. Hayley Briggs threw for Bettridge and doubled. Rotary's other win was a 14-5 victory over Kiwanis. Travis Blake went the distance on the mound with Greg Frehner leading the scoring with a homerun. He was backed up with doubles by Merilee Tom, Chris Weaver, Blake and Stacy Palmer. Shane Adair and Scott Hulet threw for Kiwanis and Wes Heap doubled. Bettridge also picked up a win to remain as a second-place contender as thev defeated 7-11 14-1 with Brett Barton on the mound. Scramm and Gilford threw for 7-11 The beginning of the week saw 7 UP defeating Kiwanis 6-4 with Greg Sanders on the mound. Brian Green hit a double. Jason Slack went the distance for Kiwanis and also doubled. The second game on Monday resulted in an 8-4 8-4 victory for Spilsbury over Boyers. Scott Garrett went the distance for the winners and Troy McKinnon led the scoring with a homerun. Todd Boyer and Charlie White threw for Boyers. In a make-up game on Saturday, Kiwanis downed Boyers 16-5. Shane Adair threw for Kiwanis. Carter Brothers then stopped Kiwanis 20-17 as they concluded a postponed post-poned game. Carter Brothers netted three runs in the top of the eleventh inning, then held Kiwanis scoreless in the bottom of the inning. |
