Show Fire damages restaurant A grease fire at the Town & .Country Restaurant at the corner of. Main and 200 North streets caused an estimated $3,500 damage July 8. . The fire started, said Cedar City Fire Chief. David Bentley, when some grease was dumped onto the grill in the restaurant's kitchen. The grease quickly caughtfire, and the flame burst through the ventilation system and through a vent in the roof of the structure. According to Arthur Dustin who was just north of the building there was a sudden cloud of smoke, then a big burst of flame. Bentley said that the 24 men responding controlled con-trolled the flames quickly. The heat was so intense, he said, that it melted the hood over the roof ventilating fan. There was also thick smoke in the attic of the building, but no flames, thus minimizing the damage there. |
