Show American league underway Realty World inched out to a small lead in the American Little League as they were the only team to pick up two wins in the first week of play. Some teams didn't get two games in due to poor weather. Coleman squeaked by Rotary 5-4 in the first game of the season with a pitching duel taking place between Coleman's Shawn Wright and Rotary's Chris Weaver. Weaver had 15 strike outs in the first five innings and Wright picked up 12. Coleman hit one single and Rotary six. Realty World took a 10-3 10-3 win over 7 UP with Glen Jump and Shad Leeder pitching. Craig Mar-chant Mar-chant threw for 7 UP. Carter Brothers defeated Coleman 8-4 with Kirt Rosenberg and Dale Bagley on the mound. Scott Davis doubled for the winners. Larin Taylor and Curtis Roundy pitched for Coleman. Taylor also doubled. It was Spillsbury 15 and 7-11 12 in other action. Alan Garrett, Todd Story and Scott Garrett all took a turn on the mound while Amber Murie led the scoring for Spillsbury with a double. Tyley Perkins and John Gould pitched for 7-11. Ken Bettridge defeated Boyers 18-5 with Clay Tom on the mound. Brent Barton and Gail Riddle doubled for Bettridge. Todd Boyer went the distance for Boyers. |
