Show Annexation approval grantedby Council The Cedar City Council has approved annexation of the airport and other property northwest of the city. Final approval for annexation was given at the May 21 council meeting. A portion of the property originally included in the proposed area was removed from . consideration because of strong objections from several landowners. Those not anexed will be without city services and a apparently felt no need for ' them. : Water, sewage " and other services ser-vices will be provided to desiring property owners in the newly annexed local; and to new industry in-dustry coming into the area. The City is looking closely at developing, or having developed, an industrial park in the airport vicinity. In other action on the 21st, phase one of a revenue sharing hearing was conducted. "The hearing is to publica-lly state your intent," said Cedar City Manager Joe Melting. The City should receive around $254,000 in funds from Congress if appropriations ap-propriations are similar to last year. The Council volted to place these expected funds in the capital expenditure section of the budget. There will be two more hearings on the matter. |
