Show Springtime cleaning time Use this solution as you vould any commercial cleaner. Use sponge dampened in above solution no need to wipe. By JANET WEAVER Record Correspondent Springtime is here, and the traditional spring cleaning is crying to be done. A special reader from Moab, Utah, is sharing her recipes for cleaning solutions which are bound to do the job as well as save money. Thank you Marilyn Olesen. We'll bless you as we clean. CLEANING NATURAL WOOD FINISHES 1 quart hot water 3 Tbsp. boiled linseed oil 1 Tbsp. turpentine Wash the piece of furniture with a soft, , clean cloth which has been rinsed and wrung out in the cleaning solution. Never use a dripping wet cloth. Keep mixture as warm as your hand can stand it while using. If the solution is placed on a double boiler or over a pan of hot water, it will stay warm longer. Wash until soil is removed. Then wipe it dry and polish with a clean dry soft cloth by rubbing briskly. BASIC FURNITURE v POLISH i 1- 3 cup linseed oil ( 2- 3 cup turpentine 1-3 tablespoons dark walnut stain (optional) Mix ingredients. Add stain to touch up nicks and scratches on dark furnishings. FORBEY'S CLEANER 1 gallon water (minus 3 cups) 1 cup powdered detergent 1 cup clorox This cleaner is good for bathrooms. Use a brush and bucket. It's also good for kitchens, ovens, stoves and car seats ' leather or vinyl. GLASS CLEANER 1 pint rubbing alcohol 4 Tb. ammonia 2 Tb. liquid detergent . Mix in a gallon jug and finish filling with water. ALL-PURPOSE HOUSEHOLD CLEANER 1 gallon hot water 1 cup ammonia ,4 cup vinegar 4 cup soda |
