Show BEAVER HIGH SCHOOL NOTES By JULIE ANN FARRER Again the doors of the Beaver Beav-er High School have swung open to what we hope will be a banner year. Old students we miss, it's true, but we welcome our new enrollment from Min-ersville Min-ersville and Belknap. David Reynolds Takes Sludsni Body Helm An assemblye was held Tuesday, Tues-day, Sept. 3, in the auditorium. Principal Heslington welcomed the students and explained the school policies. He introduced the faculty and David Heslington, Hesling-ton, Student Body president. David assumed his duties as head of the Student Body for the coming year, and introduced members of the Student Council. Coun-cil. . A practice game with the Beaver Alumni followed the social. New Teachers Join Beaver High' Faculty Several new teachers have been added to the faculty oi B. H. S. Philo Allen comes to us frorr . Kanab, and is a graduate of the B Y U. He will teach English and Journalism. Allen ReYnolds was formerly ; a' seminary teacher at oui school. After several years ou' of the classroom he returns to teach Science,. Mrs. Nina Williams is a for" mer student of B Y U, U S U and C S U. She is to be our physical education and health instructor. Howard Low returns to our music department after several years' absence. He had one of the outstanding music departments depart-ments and we're glad he returned. re-turned. Mrs. Ann Messer is a native of Beaver and she will teach one class each day in shorthand. We welcome these teachers and know that their presence will help make our B H S an outstanding .school. Harvest Eall Planned Plans are being made for the annual Harvest Ball, sponsored by the F H A and F F A. The date will ba Sept. 27. Traditionally the theme and decorations will feature autumn leaves, and harvest moon, and other seasonal decorations. Be sure to see the Parowan game in the afternoon and then attend the big dance in the evening.
