Show To Change ftXai! Route. Salt Lake Herald. Representative Parry, R. C. Lund, State Land Commissioner McFarlane and others have prepared a petition to Postmaster A. L. Thomas of this city, looking to a change of the present mail route from Milford to Cedar City,. St. George and adjacent towns in Iron and Washington counties, to Lincoln county, coun-ty, Nevada, and Mojave county, Arizona. Ari-zona. The petitioners argue that the route from Sulphur, on the Utah & Pacific, to St. George, via Cedar City, is only ninety miles, while the present route from Milford to St. George, via Cedar City, is 147 miles, and they ask that this new route be established: also for a branch to Paragoonah from Cedar Ce-dar City. There are all the advantages of celerity cel-erity and lessened distance to be urged in support of the new route. With Postmaster Thomas' endorsement, it is believed the department at Washington Washing-ton will make the change. |
