Show NEW HARMONY Mrs. O. Hammond Mrs. L. Mathis Reporters Monday evening, Anson B. Call, county agent, and Mrs. Call held a meeting for the purpose of organizing org-anizing neighborhood groups in connection with the extension service, for the purpose of disseminating dissem-inating vital information concerning concern-ing the war effort. Mrs. Ila Williams of Las Vegas is visiting her mother, Mrs. Lur-ene Lur-ene P. Taylor. Mrs. Jennie Williams of Kanarra was transacting business here Friday. Fri-day. Mrs. Susan A. Pace and Mrs. Lurene P. Taylor motored to Cedar City Monday to see a grandson and nephew, Ronald Pace, who is in the Iron county hospital convalescing from a recent re-cent appendectomy. Mrs. J. L. Prince and sons, Reed and Darce, went to Cedar City Monday to transact business. Miss Phyllis Neagle, Garfield county nurse, visited relatives here one day this week. Mrs. Barbara Zohner and Mr. and Mrs. Clark Tobler of Washington Wash-ington were here Sunday. They came to bring Miss Neola Zohner, who will teach school here this winter. Mr. and Mrs. John E. Whipple, and son, Lynn, of Logandale, were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mathis on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Fore-master Fore-master and Sheriff Antone B. Prince of St. George were visiting in town last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. James D. Neilson and son, Dale, spent Friday and Saturday in Las Vegas visiting with their son, Keith. They were accompanied by Mrs. Keith Neil-son, Neil-son, who has been visiting here. Boyd Pace underwent an operation oper-ation for the removal of his tonsils ton-sils at the Iron county hospital last Monday. The last meeting of the season of the D. U. P. was held in the church house Thusrday. The fall shearing of goats began Sunday at the Schmutz brothers' shearing corral. The regular New Harmony ward chicken dinner was held at the Pace farm Saturday evening. Eighty people were seated at the tables spread on the grass. After the dinner the crowd assembled at the church house, where they enjoyed dancing for a couple of hours. Miss Lorna Anderson of Cedar City is the guest of Miss Roma Mathis over the week end . Mr. and Mrs. Emil Dostalek received re-ceived word of the marriage of their son, Lieut. George Dostalek, to Miss Dorothy Goodwyn, of Cleveland, Ohio. The ceremony was performed at Fort Benning, Ga., where George is stationed. He is now a parachute officer in Company "F" of the 505th Parachute Para-chute Infantry. Heber J. Walton, who is employed em-ployed at Salt Lake City visited over the week end with his family here. |
