Show 'J A J-' . ' jj SGT. MAC L. SULLIVAN Mac Sullivan Promoted To Staff Sergeant Recently promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant is Mac L. Sullivan, Sul-livan, 21-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sullivan of Hurricane. Not only does Sgt. Sullivan enjoy his work in the Army, but his athletic accomplishments net him a little overtime fun now and then, according to information informa-tion received. In 1934 Mac was all-around champion in the Hurricane Hurri-cane district pentathlon meet, and in 1935 he won the championship in the Deseret News pentathlon games in St. George for all-around athletic sports. Since going into the Army he has continued to win honors for his company. In Camp San Luis Obispo he danced in the M. I. A. contests, winning honors, and has also won high honors in boxing and other sports. A news clipping from Visalia, Calif., tells of his pitching a no-hit, no-run Softball game for Co. "C" 115th Engineers against Co. "B" of the same regiment, regi-ment, the score being 6-0. After their special training at Ft. Lewis, Wash., Mac was one of the 20 of the old company of 115th Enigneers, chosen to help form a new regiment in the vicinity vi-cinity of Camp White, Ore. |
