Webber, district conservationist conserva-tionist for the South Slope-Upper Virgin river soil conservation district, dis-trict, announced the completion of plans leading to agreements between be-tween Evan Lee of Virgin, and Arthur D. Cox, of Rockville, and the conservation district headed by Heber Hirschi, Rockville, chairman chair-man of the board of supervisors of the district. At the Evan Lee farm nearly three-fourths of a mile of bank revetment will be constructed with the use of railroad rail, cable and large cottonwood trees. The rev etment work will be so placed that it will reclaim ten acres of once valuable farm land, will furnish furn-ish protection for a portion of the Zion Canyon highway and will benefit the Virgin Irrigation company com-pany by holding the river in its present location near their ditch heading. The work on the Cox farm near the old town of Grafton will be constructed of similar materials ma-terials and in addition to furnishing furn-ishing protection for Mr. Cox's valuable orchards it will also help protect the highway to Zion Nation Na-tion Park. |
