Show U. of U. Glee Club Pleases Dixie Audience Viewed from any angle, losers were those who failed to attend Wednesday night's concert and hear Prof. Thomas Giles and his University of Utah Men's Glee club who are recognized throughout through-out the west for their expert performance. per-formance. They are assisted by a group of lady student violin and piano artists of the U. and were accompanied on the trip by Mr. A. F. Horsefall. Every number from beginning to end of the concert was executed exe-cuted with the skill demanded by-Professor by-Professor Giles, and was warmly applauded. Winning special commendation com-mendation was the tenor solo, "Old Mother Hubbard", Hutchinson, by J. Marlow Neilson, the accordion solos by Sylvio Fassio, "Old John Peel", by the 100-voice chorus, "On the Road to Mandalay", Norman Nor-man Gulbrandsen baritone soloist backed by the entire chorus, and the concluding number, "Blue Danube". Maxine Orton and Janet Konold, sopranos, and the piano and violin numbers were all in the upper class. Music lovers who failed to hear this concert have missed a golden opportunity. |
