Show Mrs. James Judd Talks Before M Men-Gleaners A most interesting lecture was given last Sunday evening by Mrs. James Judd to a large group of M Men and Gleaners as well as other guests, in the recreation hall of the South ward chapel. In charge of the program were Rudger McArthur, Margaret Kemp and Viola Wittwer. Having spent three years in Australia while her husband was president of that L. D. S. mission, Mrs. Judd is well versed on the customs, traditions, habits and occupations oc-cupations of the people of Australia, Au-stralia, and with much of the history his-tory of the country, and along with giving a very interesting discourse, dis-course, she used several reels of film showing the geography, plant life, animals and people. Interesting among the exhibits were the places of recreation, the market places, the qualla bear, the kangaroos, the emu, and the people of the bush. Mrs. Judd also had with her some plaques, book ends, dishes and other items made of the native hardwoods of Australia, and some fine pieces of table linen, crochet work and other souvenirs collected during her years in Australia. Mrs. Grant Whitehead and her brother, R. J. j Sullivan, assisted with the film I exhibit. |
