Show Fairly Large Crowd Attends First Community Sing Program The Community Sing Sunday evening eve-ning gave proof that people have remembered the good times of last summer. A fairly-large crowd attended and joined in singing the old favorites, rounds, war songs and other patriotic numbers.. Mrs. Mae A. Pace wielded the baton while Paul Thompson accompanied most of the numbers. Marion Bowler assisted with conducting and sang two numbers. Special numbers for the evening eve-ning included a reading, "My Father Says So", by Alma Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Baker; and a vocal duet, "What Would You Take for Me?" by Cherre and Pal Miles, daughters respectively of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Miles and Mr. and Mrs. Pratt Miles. William T. Morris Jr., accompanied ac-companied this number. Both of these special numbers were commemorative com-memorative of Father's Day, and were exceptionally good. Gordon Mathis of the American Legion led in the Salute to the Flag. Next Sunday, from 8 to 9 p. m., there will be another sing, and everyone is welcome. Call Mrs. Pace for request numbers, and bring new talent. |
