Show W. C. Bowman Buried ; At Bunkerville , On Tuesday, April 11th BUNKERVILLE, Nev. Funeral services for W. C. Bowman, 85, prominent pioneer of eastern Nevada, Ne-vada, were held Tuesday, April 11, in the Bunkerville ward chapel at 2 p.m., with Bishop Austin Hunt presiding. Relatives and friends from Utah and Nevada packed the chapel to capacity for the services. Music numbers included, "O, My Father", and "I Have Read of A Beautiful City", toy the ward choir, and a vocal solo, "In A Garden", toy Thayne Carlyle, accompanied by Mrs. Carlyle. Speakers for the services were Glenn Waite, Charles Leavitt, William Wil-liam Leavitt, Lois Jones, and Paul Thurston, all of whom paid tribute trib-ute to the useful and industrious life of the deceased, whose honor, integrity and devotion to duty and to his church and family had won him high esteem of all who knew him. Robert O. Gibson of the stake presidency and Bishop Hunt also eulogized the deceased for his exempliary life and for rearing a family of respectable sons and daughters. Prayers were by Parley S. Born In Salt Ijike City Born in Salt Lake City Feb. 5, 1859, he was a son of Isaac and Martha Jane Calvert Bowman. Bow-man. His early years were spent in the vicinity of Ogden, later living at Frisco, Wah Wah Springs and Minersville in Beaver county, Utah. From there he moved to Moapa Valley, where he was a successful rancher and merchant. Surviving are his wife, Mary Elizabeth Bowman and the following follow-ing children: Stephen- W. Bowman, Bow-man, Hollister, Calif.; Elmer S. Bowman, Logandale; Leon C. Bowman, Los Angeles; Mrs. Lu-cina Lu-cina Waite and Mrs. Mada Oavis, Bunkerville; Mrs. Laura Nelson, Leamington, Utah; (Mrs. Pearl Snow, Delta; Cecil L. Bowman, Boise, Ida.; and Howard C. Bowman, Bow-man, Coulee Dam, Washington. He also has two step-children, Mrs. Elizabeth Bowman of Logan-dale Logan-dale and Willard Leavitt of Mes-quite; Mes-quite; 42 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; three brothers, John C. Bowman, Beaver; Frank C. Bowman, Portland; Cyrus C. Bowman, Overton; and two sisters, sis-ters, Mrs. Ellen Carrick, Monrovia, Calif.; and Mrs. Laura Webb, Salt Lake City. |
