Show Third Packed House Sees Woodward High Dance Revue Monday Eve The Woodward high gym was packed to capacity Monday evening eve-ning for the third consecutive presentation of the spring Dance Revue, featuring the dance students stu-dents of Mrs. Evan S. Pickett, which included Woodward high students as well as special dance groups. From the salutation to the finale, every number was done with precision, and fine interpretation, interpre-tation, the large audiences responding re-sponding with hearty applause. The group of six-year-olds, who gave a demonstration of the routine rou-tine of taps, were totally at ease, and several of the numbers received re-ceived special mention, including the waltz duet, "Moonlight Ma-dona", Ma-dona", the "Adagio", the setting from the "Grand Canyon Suite", and the "Rachmaninoff Prelude". The introductions, written especially es-pecially for this revue, were read by two high school girls, Miss DeLores Farnsworth and Miss Iris Woodbury. The extra numbers included readings by Marion Bentley Bent-ley with his Charley McCarthy (Continued on page eight? Woodward Revue (Continued from page six) dummy, and vocal solo by Ray Garner, the serenade from "Rose Marie". Lighting effects were in charge of Gardner Snow and Vernon Short and were effectively worked out. Accompaniments were by Paul Thompson, Mrs. Mae A. Pace and her string ensemble, en-semble, and by Mrs. Pickett, the finale sweeping to a climax with Miss Valrea Hafen as the Goddess of Liberty lighting the individual torches of humanity for the "March to Victory". Mrs. Pickett and her entire troop of dancers were given special commendation for their entire program which Principal Newell R. Frei said the Woodward staff was proud to sponsor. |
