Show Miss Emily Brown and Parke Cox Exchange Vows In Garden Wedding Ceremony Joined in marriage in a beautifully beauti-fully arranged garden ceremony last Saturday evening, Sept. 12, were Miss Emily Brown, daughter of Mrs. Norma Wasden of Scipio and Parke Cox, son of Mrs. Golda Cox Dill of St. George.' The ceremony cere-mony was performed in the early evening by Bishop Vernon Church of LaVerkin, uncle of the groom, in the presence of a large group of relatives and friends, on the lawns fronting the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Cox, brother of the groom. A large reception followed the marriage ceremony. For the marriage the bride wore a smart street dress in black and white with a corsage of rosebuds. rose-buds. Attending her as matron of honor was her sister, Mrs. Klea Memmotte, of Scipio, the groom's brother, Lee Cox, acted as best man. Both young people are graduates gradu-ates of the Dixie junior college and ' the groom is at present finishing fin-ishing his instructor's course in flying at that institution. Mrs. Cox is employed by Wasatch Oil company. The lawns, reception and gift rooms of the Cox home were smartly decorated for the occasion with large baskets of dahlias and other fall flowers from the gardens gar-dens of Mr. and Mrs. George Prince of New Harmony, grandparents grand-parents of the groom. Attending the reception from out of town, besides the bride's mother and sister from Scipio were the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Stapley of New Harmony; Har-mony; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Beck of Salt Lake City; Bishop and Mrs Vernon Church and Mr. and Mrs. Delworth Wilson of LaVerkin. La-Verkin. An informal program of music, singing and games furnished entertainment en-tertainment along with the serving serv-ing of refreshments. . The couple will make their home in St. George for the present. |
