Show Mrs. Charlotte V. Atkin, who has been vacationing the past month in Glendale, Utah, came home Sunday. DeLoy and DeLoris Johnson have returned from visiting in Los Angeles with their father, Carl Johnson. Mrs. Louis Gerber and daughter, daugh-ter, Judy, returned last week from Salt Lake City with her mother, Mrs. Perry Lang, who had been visiting her for a few days. They planned to go on to the Coast to visit Mr. Gerber at San Diego, where he was stationed with his regiment, but learning that he had sailed, returned to Salt Lake City Monday evening. Calvert Whitehead, who has been attending the University of Lincoln, Neb., for the past year, and is now employed in a defense plant at Provo, visited in St. George over Sunday and Monday. Keith Baker and Austin Gentry motored to Los Angeles over the week end, Austin remaining, and Keith returning with Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Sanderson and small son, who visited until Wednesday. Calvin Cottam returned early Sunday morning from a six-weeks' six-weeks' vacation in Salt Lake City and Springville. Clinton Milne and son, Donald, motored down from Cedar City Sunday to spend the day with his mother, Mrs. Alice W. Milne. Mrs. Marvin Jenkins, the former form-er Noma Andrus, arrived last Sunday Sun-day evening from Salt Lake City for a week's visit with her family. Pilot Jenkins is expected to fly down over the week end to return re-turn with his wife. Mrs. Calvert Andrus passed through St. George early last week taking Miss Dawn Andrus with her to California for a ten-day ten-day vacation. 3? Mr. and Mrs. H. M. McKay were guests last week of Mrs. McKay's Mc-Kay's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Andrus. ' H. C. Cottam and son, Dr. A. H. Cottam, J. N. Stratton, Vivian Leany and George Baker made up a party for a fishing excursion to the Enterprise reservoir over the week end. Word from the Simpsons today says the Editor is improving but they will probably be absent another an-other week. Jt. Jfc V? -( Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. Cottam Cot-tam returned last Friday from a two months vacation in Berkeley, Calif., and other Coast cities. Mrs. Roxey S. Romney returned last Friday morning from spending spend-ing a week with her son, Waldo, who is stationed at Ft. Douglas, and who on his short furlough from duty accompanied her to Pocatello, Ida., where they visited relatives. Her daughter, Mrs. Cummings Gardner and baby arrived ar-rived late Saturday night from Los Angeles to visit over the week. Claud Thompson motored to Logan ten days ago returning on Monday morning and bringing with him, Mrs. Thompson, who has been in Logan five weeks with their children, Mr. and Mrs. LeGrande Nelson and baby. While absent they also visited relatives and friends in Montpelier, Ida., and in Ogden and Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Mayhew arrived Tuesday from Las Vegas, to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Huntsman. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Huntsman came Saturday Sat-urday from the Coast, where they have spent the summer. Both plan to attend the Dixie junior college for the winter. .V, -!L -X-K -K Martin Anderson of San Francisco Fran-cisco visited in St. George over the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Woodruff W. Cannon, enroute to Salt Lake City to visit his mother, Mrs. M. Anderson. He was their guest at the West ward dinner Friday evening and at the Athena club dinner Saturday evening. Mrs. Walter F. Smith came down from Logan Saturday to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Seegmiller, her sons, Darre and Jordan, and daughter, Evelyn, and to transact business in connection con-nection with her department in Farm Security. Mrs. and Mrs. Lorenzo Leavitt of Santa Clara enjoyed visiting with their seven1 daughters during dur-ing the past week. Those from out of town were: ' Mrs. E. J. Stucki, Mrs. Roe Palmer and Mrs. Clyde Higbee all' of Cedar City. Mrs. Bob Morris and Miss Emma of Maywood, Calif. Mrs. James Andrus of St. George and Mrs. E. C. Gates of Santa Clara. They hadn't all been at home at the same time in Jour years. The opening meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary will be held in the Legion hall Monday, Mon-day, Sept. 21st, at 8:00 p. m. Alva Best received word Tuesday Tues-day of the death of his oldest brother, Lester. Mr. Best just returned from visiting his brother and the rest of his family in Cen-terville, Cen-terville, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Whitney Mattson and Mrs. M a r i on Christensen spent the week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Pectol. They returned home Monday evening. eve-ning. Mrs. Christensen is of Sa-lina Sa-lina and Mr. and Mrs. Mattson are from San Francisco. Miss Jessie McDowell of Aurora, Aur-ora, 111., who has been visiting at the home of Mrs. Andrew Perkins in Cane Beds for the past six weeks, stopped over In St. George Tuesday with Miss Dica Perkins, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee J. Esplin. She plans to leave this week end for San Francisco. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Prisbrey returned last Sunday to their home in Brigham City after visiting vis-iting for two weeks in St. George and Kanab with their respective parents and relatives. While here, they were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Minor Prisbrey. |
