Show Special Civil Service Officers To Interview for Govt. Jobs A special representative of the Civil Service Commission will be in St. George on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 24 and 25, for the purpose of recruiting and interviewing inter-viewing persons interested in government gov-ernment employment in the State of Utah. There exists an acute shortage in the following trades and occupations: occu-pations: Classified laborer, $1380 per year of $5.20 a day; clerk typist, $1260 and 1440 per year; clerk stenographer, $1440 and $1620 per year; clerk, $1260 to $1800 per year; mechanic learner, $1200 per year while training subsequent opportunities for advancement ad-vancement to $2900. Vacancies also exist in the following fol-lowing positions: Tradesmen General: Carpenter (various grades) $1500 to $2300 per year; electrician (various grades) $1500 to $2200 per year; general mechanic, me-chanic, $1500 to $2200 per year; plumber, $2200 per year; crane operator, $1500 to $1860 per year; gardener, $1500 per year. The following aircraft trades also have openings: Mechanical. $1860 to $2200 per year; general, welding, engine, electrical, instrument, instru-ment, leather and canvas, woodwork, wood-work, machinist and sheet metal. Inspector aircraft and aircraft supplies. $1500 to $2300 per year. Miscellaneous positions open to the following: Junior storekeeper, $1410 per year; trainee firefighter, $1680 per year; trainee patrolmen. $1680 per year; engineering draftsman. drafts-man. $1110 to $2300 ler year; and messenger, $1200 to $1380 per year. (Plus overtime is paid at some agencies in other positions also). Varaniries in all positions above will tK' filled by War Service a-pointments. a-pointments. which means that the employment wll not te of temporary temp-orary " nature, but will continue for the duration, plus at least six months. Maximum ago limits have for the most part been elirn-inaterl. elirn-inaterl. and minimum age limits in some positions have been lowered low-ered to include persons 16 and 17 vears old among those eligible. |
