Show Eighteen Leave For U. S. Service Thurs. Morning Eighteen Washington county boys boarded the Burlington bus at 1:30 a.m., this (Thursday) morning to report at Fort Douglas, Salt Lake City for their assignments in the military service. The group took six boys from St. George, two from Springdale, two from Virgin, two from Hurricane, one each from Enterprise, Gunlock, Santa Clara and Toquerville, and two transfers from Mojave county, Ariz. The list includes O r v i n D. Terry, Enterprise; Russell C. Landry, Lan-dry, Clair M. Paxman, Arnold E. Cannon, Harold W. Messenger, Creston D. Woodard and Daniel R. Worthen, all of St. George; Warren Bushead, Indian, Santa Clara; Leonard E. Wilcox and, Riley Matthews, Virgin; Clarence-Theobald, Clarence-Theobald, Toquerville; R. L. Schow and William Cyril Russell, Hurricane; Hur-ricane; Vernon A. Leavitt, Gun-lock; Gun-lock; Anthony Gifford and Lorin C. Gifford, Springdale; Robert C. Fenstermaker, Beaver Dams; and Rayo S. Johnson, Short Creek. - The Lions were present en-masse, en-masse, along with relatives to say goodbyes. Clair N. Paxman, Robert Rob-ert Fenstermaker, Leonard Wilcox Wil-cox and Arnold E. Cannon are the married men in the group. |
