Show Veyo Mrs. James F. Cottam Reporter The Catherine Bunker camp of the D. U. P. met Nov. 14 at the home of Belle Jones. The lesson on, "Early Pioneer Buildings", was treated by Donna Lang. A lunch was served to the eight members present by the hostess. During the presentation of the lesson, each member did handiwork handi-work furnished by the hostess. Mrs. Mabel Elmer of Pioche, has been taken to the Las Vegas hospital in a very critical condition, condi-tion, according to news received here by her sister, Mrs. June Chadburn. Mrs. Chadburn is caring car-ing for two of Mrs. Elmer's small children at the present time. The Veyo ward Relief Society presented the pageant, "The Gate Beautiful", Sunday evening, November No-vember 24, as its ward conference program. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Smith and family of Summit, Ut., Mr. and Mrs. Don Judd and family of St. George, and Miss Fern Chadburn, who is working at Parowan, all spent Thanksgiving with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Chadburn. Barbara and Betty Horsley of Los Angeles, and Mr. and Mrs. Neil Bracken of Central spent the Thanksgiving vacation here at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Horsley, returning to their home Sunday. Donald Horsley returned re-turned to Los Angeles with them where he expects to enlist in the Navy. Ernest Horsley of Price, spent Thanksgiving holidays with his brother, John Horsley, returning to St. George Sunday where he will work in the Temple. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bunker of St. George enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Lewis Bowler. Mr. and Mrs. Von Cottam of St. George spent Thanksgiving day with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. James F. Cottam. Mrs. Rachel Cottam of St. George spent several days last week at the home of her son, James F. Cottam, returning home on Sunday. The M. I. A. gave its Harvest Ball last Wednesday evening. There is considerable sickness among the children of the town in the form of very severe colds. |
